a trip of a thousand memories
a few days ago, me and my family got to stay in salt lake city. we stayed in a four star hotel! it had glass elevators so you could look at the lobby below as you're going up and this huge crystal chandelier that looked like seaweed. we also went to Hogle Zoo and saw hippos, giraffes, elephants, lions, tigers, and lots of monkeys and apes. we also saw a rare white alligator ( in fact, there so rare, there's 10 rumored to exist today). i also bought a penguin from the gift shop i named Addlely ( because shes a adelie penguin). we also went to the Clark Planetarium where we got to walk on the moon and mars, saw a model of the ISS, and learned about astronomy. we also saw this giant pendulum that swung in the same direction and knocked down a domino every hour. we also saw this big kinetic sculpture called newton's daydream that also made music. it was huge! we also got to see temple square ( though mostly everything was closed because we came on the fourth) but we saw the reflection pool, the conference center, the visitors centers, and the tabernacle. we also saw an acoustic demonstration at the tabernacle. who knew that you could hear a piece of newspaper, three pins, and a nail dropped, and we were sitting in the very back! finally the coup de grace, we went to the stadium of fire! the blue man group creeped me out, but Miley rocked! the fireworks was good to! it was synchronized to music ( like the close encounters song at the end, the Indiana Jones theme song, Jurassic park, over the rainbow, and a bunch of patriotic songs) so the fireworks lit at different times. we could literally feel the ash fall on our heads. one chunk from the cone bonked my sister right on her head! then the next day we headed up to Idaho to pick up somethings from my grandma's house. i got to see some of my relatives. it was great.
